Day 1 - Sept 1 (7:15 am)

So, the plane just took off. As were were boarding, I turned to Steve and said, "I hope this is not going to be like the plane ride to Jamaica" (where an extremely large man sat next to me, invading my personal space and gently leaning into my seat for approximately 4 hours.) Yes, we could only hope this would not be like that. Only, we had no idea it could be even worse!

Athens Part I - extremely large, laughing man this time! Personal space - NONE. Leg space - HE TAKES OVER. Then, it gets worse. The plane takes off, the pilot announces that it is ok to use the personal tv's on the back of the seat in front of you, I curl up next to Steve to catch up on some sleep and to help pass the time that I am going to be squished between him and the large man (who did come on the plane wearing a top hat mind you!). Then.. it all begins. He starts watching a comedy show from Danny Tanner. (I know that is not his real name... but you can only imagine my dismay when I find out all the laughing you are about to read about is coming from something said by Danny Tanner!). The large man starts laughing these sporadic, high pitched, bursts. At first I think I am crazy. I look over at him and he seems all normal. Then, loud burst. Not like a normal laugh, but like a scream mixed with a jump. The guy doesn't even seem to notice there are like, what, 100 other people around trying to sleep on the 6:00 am flight! I try to sleep. I try to block it out. The laughing continues. Steve and I can't believe our luck. More laughing. Others on the plane start looking around. The girl behind us says outloud, "what are we going to do?!" The girl on the next row over looks panicked! WE all know the potential for a 5 hour flight with THIS guy! After about 10 min of this and after he makes a demand for a cran-apple juice even before the stewardesses start passing out drinks, the guy in front of us turns and says, "Can you be quiet? This is going to be a long flight." OH BOY - YES IT IS!!
