All done!

Today was the final CT follow up for Wes. He woke up this morning with a terribly stuffy nose and I was afraid we were going to have to reschedule. They had planned for light anesthesia and his cold could complicate things. After talking with the nurse on our way to drop Evan off at Jen's, we decided to just try doing the CT scan without anesthesia and then reschedule if he wouldn't hold still. We drove into the old familiar parking lot and entered into the old familiar building. We checked into radiology and walked back to the room for scanning. All the while I was skeptical that this was going to work, but wanted to try anyway. We got to the room, Steve got onto the table and the tech put through him through the machine to show Wes what they were going to do. Wes watched and then took his turn. He did amazing. He cried a little, but for the most part held still with little tears running down his face and trusted everyone that he would truly be ok.

After the scan we had to wait for 2 hours to see the dr. During this time Wes ran around the waiting room, colored pictures, threw paper airplanes, drove cars around, and threw anything and everything we could find into the garbage. I watched him running around and I couldn't believe how far we'd come! From 6 days old, wrapped in a blanket, and tears and tears from me - to this. Two years. Two fabulously fast years.

We met with the dr and it was just as uneventful as we had hoped. Scans looked great! His skull has a few small bumps and a few small holes, but nothing that gives any cause for worry. He will not need any more surgeries and they just want to follow up on him in the next year.  Happy, happy, happy day!
