September was coming to an end and we hadn’t yet adventured. Jen was at work and asked Kaitlyn (our receptionist) if she knew of anything adventure-like for us to do that night. Kaitlyn, being a WA native, told her that apparently seeing Seattle at night across the water from Alki Beach was something people did. She had never done it and couldn’t vouch for it, but perhaps it would work. Jen and I conversed, decided it sounded like something that neither of us wanted to do, thought it sounded like a lot of trouble for a little time, and agreed it was getting late. However, some of these things met the requirements for an adventure so we decided we had no choice but to go. We packed warm clothes and wood and got on the road. (The wood was packed with the intention of having a bon fire on the beach, but it started raining too soon so the fire part of the evening never happened).
This adventure was nice and small. Quick. We put Alki into the GPS’s and headed across the West Seattle Bridge to Alki Beach. We found a good look-out point right before sundown and waited for the city lights to turn on. Turns out, Kaitlyn was right. This was worth the drive, the effort and the adventure!
(Yes, look at how amazing Ivy looks! LOVE her!)
Wesley had only been walking about 1 week by this time and was SO proud to be part of the kids!
