Today I woke up to some very noisy banging around outside. I could hear trucks and men and noise. I crawled out of bed and peaked out of the curtain. Much to my surprise I saw a lot of workers outside MY house pulling out my fence and dumping dirt to fill in the ditch around the house. I AM SO EXCITED!!! Finally the dreaded thing will be gone! No more hating it and thinking about it and mulling over whether or not it should be done!!! (If you don't already know, Steve and I have hated the rusty chain link fence around the yard since we moved in. We have been threatening to have it removed and to have the little ditch filled in forever! So, a couple of months ago - like back in Nov., we got a quote for the project from a very fast talking landscaper, but decided to put it off until after the baby was born. We didn't want to spend the money on yard repairs in case the medical bills broke the bank. Well, the medical bills are breaking the bank, but we decided that the fence still had to go! (Responsible, right?!)). Here are pictures of the progress. The fast talking landscaper says it should all be done tomorrow. I will post updates as I see them! Once again, HOORAY!!! I can't wait to wake up tomorrow to see what they are doing. (On a side note-- at one point during the day I looked out and saw the chain link fence in the truck to be hauled away. A little bit later, I saw one of the workers hauling the fence out of the truck and putting it in the neighbor's yard. Steve and I are wondering if the neighbor asked for the fence so they could put it up. How funny would that be... get rid of the darn thing only to have it recycled as a fence for the neighbor!)
Second of all....
Evan laughed today! A real laugh. I was doing Patty Cake (I don't know how to spell that!) with his feet and I was getting faster and faster. When I got to the fasted I could possibly go... after the "up in the oven" part... he let out a little laugh. At first I thought it was just a lucky moment, but then he kept laughing when I did it again and again. I was so excited! (This is not a picture from the laughing, but look at his awesome jammies!)
Who in the world made up that little saying "This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home" and decided it was ok for Pigs to eat Roast Beef? Every time I say it I think, "do you think the pig cares that he is eating a cow?" I know they are different animals, but it kind of seems like canibalism - an animal eating another animal.
Fifth of all...
A few weeks ago, I was changing Evan into his jammies at Jen's house. I took off his socks and he had TONS of sock fuzz on his toes. Owen was "helping" me and saw the sock fuzz. As I started wiping the fuzz out of his little toes, Owen promptly said "Don't worry Noni - that's totally normal. I get it too." Thanks little buddy for reassuring me and my parenting. I love him.
I think that is all for now... Watch for more updates on the yard. (Oh, and don't worry, the white fence in the back is staying put. Owen was worried that it was going too and said he didn't want it to be taken out because he liked it, it helps to protect him from wolves. I tried to tell him that there are no wolves around here, but he didn't care. I guess he thinks there are wolves in his bedroom, so it makes sense that they would be in my backyard too.)

Oh, wow, so much news! Yeah for getting rid of the fence!!! Love the pics of Evan...he is getting so BIG...can't wait to hold him again and hopefully, see that cute laugh. One of our fun memories of raising Steve is that he often laughed in his sleep...maybe that will be hereditary. Thanks for the updates.
My child is weird!
I am excited this means that Maddie should be laughing too very soon, since she is only a few days younger than Evan. Too big too fast!
I love the new picture in the Bumbo-arent those the greatest things? bracken still drags his around and sits in it all over our house.
Um, I think animals eat other animals all the time.
Your little guy is so cute. Especially love the pictures of him without the plug in his mouth.
