this one is a positive post...

I was looking at my last couple of posts and realized that I must seem like a negative Neeley!  Even though my feet were swollen, and I had a bad day, things are going well.  I am still feeling great!  I am not quite to the stage where I am beyond the pregnancy thing and want things over.  I don't quite feel like myself and have a hard time getting up off the couch, but all in all, I am doing great!  (in case you were wondering).  :)

Anyway, to show you this month has not been all that bad...Some great things that have happened this month include:
1 - I got "the chair" I have been lusting after from the Land of Nod.  It was really expensive and probably not worth the money that I spent, but I have been eyeing the lovely thing for a while now.  I tried to get a cheaper chair from another store, and I tried to love the not-very-comfortable-non-Land-of-Nod little thing, but it just wasn't "the chair" that I wanted.  Steve and I took back the other one and I took the plunge a few weeks ago when Jen and I decided that this was another perfect purchase for the yoga account.  I sat in the chair this morning and was in total bliss.  LOVE IT! (Thanks Jen!)
2 - We also got a crib.  We were going to use Jen's as soon as she decided whether or not Ivy would be using it.  She figured Ivy would probably not be sleeping in it when my child was ready for it and it would have saved Steve and I some money.  However... after we didn't have to spend any money on "the chair" (see above) I decided that I would buy the dark crib that I wanted to match the dresser in the little guy's room.  Again, I was hesitant for the purchase, but after Steve and I put it up last Sunday, I was in love with it!  Hooray for purchases that I am happy with!
3 - Steve and I went to Spaghetti Factory yesterday.  Steve doesn't like that place, but I have been craving the salad and bread and pasta for a few weeks now.  Yesterday he said he would go and I was so happy!   Yummy.  He had the lasagna and I had the fettuccini alfredo with broccoli.  Such a good date with my lover!
4 - When we left dinner last night, it was pouring rain.  The type of rain that makes you want to stay home and sit by a fire.  We had to hurry to the car and when we got there, Steve told me his head was cold from being bald and wet.  Awesome.
5 - Steve's parents came down for the Iowa game yesterday.  (Don't worry, things are ok around here... Iowa won).  Anyway, with them they brought some flannel shirts that didn't fit Steve's dad anymore.  They figured the shirts mignt fit Steve and, if not, he could just take them to Good Will.  This morning, he was wearing a flannel shirt with work-out shorts and wool socks pulled up as high as they would go.  That was definitely a good thing to see.
6- Thanksgiving is in a few days.  I was able to get my turkey candle holders out of the "autumn" box and put them on the table.  Also, I have been using festive autumn towells in the kitchen for a few weeks now.  I LOVE FALL!!!
7 - With Thanksgiving being so close, it means the annual Thanksgiving weigh-in is only a few days away. (I don't know if I will participate this year... it just isn't the same when you already start off 25 pounds heavier than you were last year...)  However, with the annual weigh-in comes mashed potatoes, vegetarian gravy, rolls, Steve's mom's yummy carrots, and lots of dessert.  Oh, how happy am I that my gestational diabetes test came back negative!?!
Hooray for postive things in my life and for more postitive changes in only 44 days.

So happy you like the chair and the crib...a perfect baby's room. We are so happy that your pregnancy has gone so well. Don't read my last blog for awhile...I don't want to ruin the "positive" energy! Glad you had such a good day yesterday.
