Three Years!

Steve and I have been married three years today!  Three seems so little, yet I feel I have known Steve forever.  I cannot remember what my life was like without him.  (Well, actually, I do remember what it was like to have control of my own bank account, but that is a story for another day...today is about how much I L.O.V.E. my husband!)

I really do love Steve.  I love him in the "you are my husband and I love you" way.  For example, I love that he takes out the garbage AND the compost.  I love that he mows the lawn (quite frequently, I might add).  I love that he fills the car up with gas for me (I haven't quite figured out if this is because he is being nice to me or if he is still worried that I might let the car completely run out, but either way, I appreciate it!).  I love that he gets things out of the shed for me - like suitcases and needle nose pliers.  I love that he locks the doors at night and kisses me goodbye in the morning before work.

I also love him in the "you are the father of my child and I love you" way.  For example, I love that he and Evan can play this game at night where Evan runs away from Steve and says "Hide!" and then I hear big loud footsteps running down the hall and the two of them laughing their heads off.  I love that one day they were doing this without their shirts on and Evan thought he was so neat to be like Steve.  I love that he pushes Evan in the jogging stroller when we all go for a run.  I love that he takes him outside, helps him climb up "play equipment" as he once called it, and says things like, "Evan, do you want to throw a ball around with me?"  I love that he packs Evan jammies and food when he takes him places alone and that he now has things like Handy Manny on his precious ipod.

And then, of course, there is the "You are my best friend, and I love you" way.  For example, I love that pretends that he doesn't see the 5 lbs that I gain here and there.  I love that he teaches me things.  I love to be with him.  I love his midwestern charm.  I love his love of Iowa and his love of his friends and his love of a good beer every now and then.  (Although I still don't fully understand any of those!).  I love how he thinks he is right all the time and I love how he responds when I prove him wrong.  I love that he loves me and understands me and is always there for me.  I really do.
Happy 3 years.  Happy.  Happy.  Happy.

P.S. Here's your next clue, Steve:
