Well, these boots were actually made for stomping in puddles - and he LOVES to do that!
Jen always comments on how awesome kids are when they see a puddle. They don't think of wet shoes, pants, or socks. They just head straight for the puddle. Totally awesome.
THESE are the shoes that were made for walking! I found these adorable little treasures at Famous Footwear... on sale! I couldn't resist and hope no one will judge me when Evan has one pair in every size!
Now for the update you have all been waiting for... EVAN IS WALKING!!! (no matter what shoes he is wearing!) On the Thurs before the last Thurs. (March 31st to be exact), Evan decided that walking with help was overrated and took off running! He had been threatening to walk alone for a little while and had taken a few steps on his own, but on his 15th month old birthday - not a day earlier or a day later, he decided enough was enough! We now have a tiny walking guy in our house!
I love having him explore. Testing his boundaries. Going in and out of rooms by himself. Walking to the car. Walking. Walking. Walking.
He still holds our hands when he is uncertain of his feet,
BUT, then he refuses to hold on in a stubborn attempt to show us that he CAN do it!
On April 5th, we had his 15 month check up.
Height - 31 1/2 (60%)
Weight -- 24 lbs. 10 oz. (52%)
(Can you believe he is only slightly above "average" on weight?! My arm muscles would beg to differ!)
The dr. said he was perfect, but I already knew that.
He is getting so old. He says lots of words. We hear: mom, dad, duck, baby, bye, hi, kiki, grandpa, yeah, and ahhh! He also knows that a dog says woof, a cow says moo, a duck says quack, and a gorilla pounds his chest. (that one is my particular favorite!). He is starting to communicate with us and can totally understand what I am saying. The other day, I told him that we couldn't go see his cousin Ivy until he got his shoes on. He went to the front door, found his shoes, sat down and tried to put them on. After I helped him get the velcro right, he stood up and reached for the door handle. I was amazed. (I know, I know - its the little things, right?!). He is totally awesome.

Bob told me to "Tell Angie the pictures are great"! We had such FUN keeping up with Evan and his explorations this past weekend. We also found that he understands what we are saying. He is an absolute joy!
