OK... something for everyone.
For those of you that do not know:
Steve and I are having a baby! Totally not a joke. We are going to be parents right around the first of Jan. (Right now the due date is Jan. 5, 2010).
For those of you that have had your suspicions: (and I know who you are!)
Yes, it is true. I am 17 (and 1/2) weeks along. My belly is starting to poke out and I cannot do all the poses in yoga. I luckily have been feeling great! So far the only real changes that I have noticed (besides the belly getting bigger) are 1 - I cannot stay up as late as I used to. (I make it about 45 min. into a two hour "So You Think You Can Dance" before I am out!) and 2 - I have had a few days of weird blurry vision and one day of semi-fainting. I know... If this is ALL and I am already well into the 2nd trimester.... count my blessings!
For those of you that have not been shocked or updated by any of the above:
We had the ultrasound on Friday and the doctor is pretty certain the little dizzy-making bean is a BOY!!! We are really excited. The little Meeleman or Natthes (as Court would put it) is a mini-Steve. Hopefully he will get Steve's head size (for the sake of my body for delivery), my hand size (for the sake of a future in sports), and a good mixture of Steve's and my brain (we could either have a pretty well balanced child if he gets the good of both of us, or a pretty neurotic mess if he gets the bad in both of us). :)
Anyway, I have been hesitant to post anything about the whole pregnancy because, let's face it, I am very superstitious -Nervous that doing something like this might set in a chain of events that would change everything. However, when we had the ultrasound, we saw the little hands and feet, the little mouth, nose, legs, ribs, boy parts, etc. This helped make things seem a little more real and convinced me that there was, in fact, a small person growing in my belly and not just what felt like a hummingbird flying around - trying to get out.
Wish me luck in the 22 1/2 weeks yet to come.

I was hoping this post was coming soon. :) And glad your pregnancy resembles Emilee's and not mine. And hooray for having a baby so close to mine. My dream come true.
I for one am in shock! Congratulations! I was wondering what was up last week, but you so vehemently denied it just a matter a a few weeks ago, I would not have ventured there. Nice! This is thrilling news indeed!

Hurray!! I didn't have any suspicions, you've hidden it well. Although at O's party on Saturday I did think I saw the makings of a cute 'baby bump' and was thinking, "Hmmm, that's not the flat, toned stomach I'm used to seeing!" CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congrats to you and Steve. So happy for you guys. Boys are the best! We love you!
