Emilee's friend gave her the recipe for this yummy, delicious bowtie salad. It has mandarin oranges, craisens, pasta, honey roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, and a wonderful little homemade-teriyaki, oil, sweetness for the dressing. I made it a while ago, and, while it was good, it seemed a bit greasy for a salad. Em and I discussed modifications to the "Yummy Delicious Bow Tie Salad" (if you try it, you will see the name we gave the salad couldn't be more right on). We decided that the salad would be just as good if we cut the dressing in half. Steve and I made it on Sunday with the modification and... PERFECT!!! So Yummy! So Delicious!!! I had it again for dinner tonight and savored every bite.
In my recipe book it is called, "Em's (even though she didn't make it up, she gets credit for introducing me to it) Yummy Delicious Bow Tie Salad." Enjoy!
ON A SIDE NOTE: This makes a lot of salad. You could probably cut the whole salad in 1/2, but then you would have to cut the dressing in 1/4 and that would be a lot of fractions. :)
Steve and I make the whole thing and then have it for lunch for a week!
Salad
12 oz. Spinach
16 oz BowTie Pasta (I use the kind with Protein for added health benefits)
2 15 oz cans of mandarin oranges
1 small bag of craisens
6 oz honey roasted peanuts
6 chopped green onions (I definitely skip this item!)
1-2 bunches of chopped fresh parsley (I accidentally skipped this one and it was still ok)
Sauce (NOTE: This is the FULL recipe, but cutting it in half is really the key!)
1 cup vegetable oil (or canola oil)
3/4 cup teriyaki sauce (Yoshidas)
6 T sugar
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
2/3 cup white vinegar (I have used regular vinegar and white rice vinegar)
Cook pasta, marinade in dressing for a few hours. Keep all ingredients separate until ready to serve. Oh, I am so excited for someone else to try it!

I love this salad! I am glad that it is called "Yummy Delicious BowTie Salad" - that is the most perfect name for it. I will have to try it next time with the 1/2 dressing. I bet it was so much better.
Sounds great I am always looking for a new recipe thanks for sharing!
