Go Hawks! (I never thought I would be saying those words!)

Last weekend we went to Iowa to watch the Hawkeye's victory over Penn State. OH, WAIT, no. We went to Iowa to celebrate our marriage with Steve's childhood friends and there just happened to be an Iowa game that same weekend. Tricky little Steve!

In all honesty, the game was a lot of fun! The temperature was a brisk 25 degrees with the windchill, the tail gate had a fire pit, Scott had his most lucky shoes on, and all Steve's friends were there from Des Moines, Iowa City, and Chicago (except Jonas - he's a big wig doctor now and couldn't get the time off. Oh the good old days when we didn't have jobs!)

A few days before the game, and a few days after the game, we were able to spend some time with Steve's nieces. After singing songs, dancing and playing, Hannah was not quite as nervous around us. Lizzie, on the other hand, was still very skeptical. She would just stare at Steve -- watching the bearded man for any sudden moves.
Also, as a main part of the trip, Steve's parents treated us all to a fabulous dinner with some of their friends and Steve's friends. We all had a great time. There is just something to be said about those Mid-Westerners!
