We went to a festival in Everett for the 4th. We were handed a flag for the festivities. An American flag, for the American independence day, with a "Made in China" label on the stick. Perfect. Despite the declaration of pure globalization, it was a good day. After the festivities, we went to my dad's house. There was eating, grazing, looking at old picture books, lots of laughing, some guitar hero, more eating and then some fire works. As always, Ben put on a wonderful show while we all sat around the camp fire. It is fun to live so close to the Indian Reservation where illegal and very dangerous fireworks are so available. The neighborhood really goes all out. After all was said and done, there was a slight haze to the air and loud explosions being heard from all directions. What a great reason to have an extra day off.

Ummm .... a campfire that took at least .... how many people? About four to start the thing? Damp wood and the wrong tree! ha ha!
I love the flag! I am laughing so hard right now!!
Oh my gosh. Whenever I get out there I'm totally going to kick all your asses at Guitar Hero!!! SERIOUSLY. I'M SERIOUS. THIS IS ME BEING SERIOUS. LOOK AT ME BEING SERIOUS!
And also one time I went camping with my friend Anne Marie Looser and even though she'd never seen me even near a fire she claimed to these people that I was the firemaster and so then there was all this pressure on me to start this fire. I was so nervous and mad at her. But then I started the fire so it was ok and everyone was very impressed because she had hyped them all up about it. Hahaha. Friends are cool.
PS - What? No post about the shower and the cutest video photo montage ever? I made it in! YAY ME!
