For the benefit of Em and Jen, I will try.

I just read through all the family blogs, got all the updates, and was ready to go to bed. I was talking to Jen and she said that I should start my own blog. I told her that I didn't have kids and so I probably wouldn't have much to say. She said it wasn't about kids, it was about me. I guess she is right and I think there might be a few things I could let you in on.

The first one... it is about conservation. I am an environmentalist; at least I profess to be. I recycle. I use a compost pail. I turn the water off while I brush my teeth. BUT... after Steve goes to bed, I turn the heat way up. I have to wait until he goes to bed because he got this new job with the government as an "Energy Engineer." His job is to help the government conserve energy and, by default, help to make our world a better place. I am not helping his cause. I appreciate the fact that he bought new thermostat regulators and has everything on a very strict heating schedule, but I tend to override the programming and turn up the heat at any chance I get. I can't help it. No one should live at 62 degrees. I am sorry Steve, I don't mean to undo all your hard work. I promise my next car will be a Prius.

The second one... I had one of those mornings today where you just don't feel like yourself. I woke up a little late, showered and then blew a fuse while blow drying my hair and running the washing machine, the dryer, and having more lights on than I probably should have. Next I had to eat one of the ends of the bread for my toast (don't get me wrong, I like the ends, but it just added to the morning). I grabbed my purse, my work bag and my bottle of water and made it out the door without getting to watch more than just the weather on the "Today Show." I drove down the street about 2 miles and then started questioning whether I had unplugged the hair straightener. I remembered placing the hot straightening iron on a library book Steve had in the bathroom, but I couldn't remember turning it off. I tried to tell myself that I was responsible and turned it off, but couldn't shut out the thought. Anyway, long story short, I drove back to the house to find the straightener off and everything as it should be. Figures. I was however, glad that I drove back. You think Steve would be mad at the heat adjustments, just think if I burnt down the house. :)

Okay, all for now. Good night and good luck to the readers. This could be an adventure.
