Things I love about Evan right now.

I LOVE him at this stage!  He is starting to talk more and more.  Jen says that he talks like a robot, but that is because he says his words nice and slow in order to be able to pronounce them properly.  :)

Some things he has said that have made my life better recently?  So many things, but the list starts like this:

1 - The day he confidently told me, "Daddy. Hate. Mole" after seeing a small pile of dirt the newest mole had piled up in the driveway.

2 - When he wakes up in the morning I used to hear a little, "Mamma..." coming from his room.  That soon became, "Mamma, Pees (please)" and now it has turned into, "Mamma.  Are you?"  Totally love to wake up to that instead of an alarm.

3 - How he says, "Turtle Beebee (blanket)" while looking for his beloved white blanket with little turtles and frogs all over it.  I don't know how that one became his favorite, but it is.  I even have a hard time washing it... tears flow when the little guy goes into the washing machine.

4 - I love it when we are driving in the car and I hear, "Mamma, hold hand."  I have to reach back over the car seat and get to feel his tiny hand reaching up to hold mine.  My hand often falls asleep all twisted backwards like that, but his little hand is so cute and so trusting.

5 - When we are reading at night and he doesn't want the book I have picked, he says, "Other booot (book)"

6 - We have this "Another Monster At The End Of This Book" app on my phone.  At the end Grover says, "Whatever" to Elmo.  We now constantly hear Evan say, "Whatever!"  (I don't know if that is a testament to my bad parenting admitting that he probably plays the iphone too much...)

7 - He has been going to the neighbor's every Thursday for a few hours.  She has a little 3 year old that Evan is obsessed with.  He watches out the window for her and if we are lucky to see her emerge outside he rushes to get his shoes and coat all the while yelling, "wait!"  He LOVES it over at their house.  She has an at-home daycare and she is amazing.  They paint, color, play with trains, explore outside, eat organic healthy treats, read books, and play games.  When I first started taking him over there I was VERY worried about leaving him with someone other than family.  He has stayed with Jen, Kristi, Bob and Kathi, and Ben.  I was so stressed about leaving him there and was prepared to sneak out after he got comfortable with train set.  However, the first day I took him over there, he took off his shoes, put them in his cubby and proudly announced, "Bye mom!"  Oh, ok.  :)

8 - I love how he points to the Christmas tree and says, "Our Christmas Tree."  Yes little one, the tree in our living room is our Christmas tree.

9 - One day, not too long ago, he had a poop-less day.  I decided a nice warm bath would probably help that problem.  I had Steve give him a bath and in the middle of the bath I heard yelling for me to come and help.  The warm bath had the effect that I was hoping for.  However, I didn't really expect that he would poop in the bath!  I came into the bathroom and said something like, "Oh buddy did you poop in the bath?"  He said, "No, Daddy pooped."

and
10 - I absolutely adore the way he counts.  "Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven."  I don't know why he has an aversion to One and Two, but around here, we typically start off with Three.

you will be glad that you wrote these down. I was looking at my blog making a book today and was glad that I had some of the things that I have. I love Evan and I love that you are such a good mom to him.

Awww. I love this post. I also love how he holds up his pointer finger like he has had a brilliant idea and says, "Iowa Hawks!"

There is a big smile in my heart for this little guy! Aren't we lucky to have him in our lives?
