Wow! 2014...

I didn't finish writing about the adventures. October, we went apple picking. It was amazing. Boxes and boxes of fresh honeycrisps, fresh from the tree! Wesley and Lyla got stung by bees, but once again, coconut oil proved to be the wonder cure. November, we went along Chuckanut drive in Bellingham. Dad suggested the adventure and we couldn't pass it up as it was so cute of him to think about our adventures and to suggest something Grandma Lori would enjoy while she was visiting. December, we went to see reindeer at a very small zoo outside of Seattle. We saw HUGE tigers and learned that they could spray "marking" spray up to 20 feet. luckily we learned this from a sign and not from experience. :). There. All adventures are documented and even though the recap of the last 3 months sucks, the adventures proved to be amazing! Jen and I looked back on 2013 and can't believe the amazing times we had. We hope to continue the tradition although the rules may change/adapt/grow as we adventure on!

2013 was a good year. We had adventures, helmets, a new patio and deck, Evan starting preschool, camping, real food, fights about the FDA, essential oils, amazing neighbors with a wonderful little friend for Evan (Oliver turned two in November, but Evan adores him and spent quite a few hours during 2013 stalking his house to see if he was going outside to play). We had runs, Bootcamp, thousands of home grown blueberries, a garden!, Wesley's eating issues, Evan's obsession with noodles. There was crawling, walking, figuring out stairs. We had a lot of things thrown at us (by Wes), we had fun times with cousins, swimming lessons, gymnastics, soccer. We had goals and weight loss. We had our 5th wedding anniversary and coincidentally ate at a restaurant called "5." We (finally) painted the laundry room and made the dryer rack I have been pining over. We travelled to Utah and Oregon. We ate out less and cooked at home more. We got rid of most chemicals in our home and I learned to make hand soap, shampoo, dishwasher soap, toothpaste and deodorant. We switched to "paperless" towels in the kitchen (instead of paper towels) and actually survived the transition.  I didn't take enough pictures or sew as many things as I would have liked. I didn't keep the last 5 lbs off or get as many miles on my shoes as I envisioned, but I am going to look at the long list of accomplishments instead of failures and stick with my initial statement that 2013 turned out ok!

Goodbye 2013. Despite my fear that I wouldn't make it through, you were actually quite good to us.

Love your adventures! I am inspired by this project. We try to do a lot of knew things but I think we need to broaden our horizons.
