In approximately 61 hours we will be arriving at Seattle Children's for Wesley's helmet appointment. This will be the appointment where they tell us if we go into helmet number 3 OR if we get to be helmet free ... F.O.R.E.V.E.R.! I know. The anticipation! The fear! The hope! I have prayed and pleaded and begged! Please let Monday be the last day. Let tomorrow and Sunday be the last two baths cleaning sweaty, foot smelling hair. Let the spray bottle of rubbing alcohol be dumped down the drain! Let us thank the little blue helmet for all its hard work and then let it retire gracefully. Seriously. If you can think of Christmas and the Easter Bunny mixed with the dentist and the first day of school. That is the only way to explain how I am feeling.
We have been doing this since Oct 1st and if I were a dr., more specifically, a highly trained, pediatric neurosurgeon, I would definitely say that it is time. If I were in charge, he would be free. If I called the shots... Well, enough. Nothing more I can do at this time... so now, we wait! (Approximately 61 hours!)
