Hotel booked.
Flights arranged.
Little brother finds a "caving adventure" listed as one of the top 500 things to do in the world by National Geographic and pleads with me to go.
I agree.
I don't know why.
I read about the possibility of foot wide spiders, bats, roaches, and scorpions.
I really don't know why I agreed.
Clothes for said adventure purchased at REI.
Hundreds of excuses of why I can't go cross my mind.
None are sufficient.
The vacation starts on Monday and the caving is on Sunday.
I put it out of my mind to enjoy the rest of the trip.
Totally enjoyed the trip.
Sunday came.
We got up at 4:45 am.
Some of the pictures are a little blurry, but we were lucky to be able to get the shots we did. The camera was wet and muddy and only made it out alive after being put into three zip lock bags. We saw the promised scorpions, roaches, bats, and spiders. Slipped on mud, swam in the river, zip lined through the forest and rock climbed our way out. It was absolutely amazing. In case anyone is wondering... Yes. Definitely one of the top 500 things to do in the world. :)

OH I am so so so happy to read this! I have been anticipating the cave post and am so thrilled that it was a great time! It does look like an amazing adventure! And who cares if they are blurry, yay for the camera making it so we could see any pictures!
So nice to see all your pics and that you had a great time. And, way to go, on the caving trip. I'm so glad that you "more than enjoyed it", considering your wariness. I'm also happy that other people go on these types of adventures, so I don't have to, but can enjoy through pics and testamonials! It was just WONDERFUL to hug Evan yesterday. Such fun to see him crawl. Hope things aren't too busy as you get back to regular life.
Holy crap!!! I cannot believe that Eric wore shorts and that you guys were swimming around in muddy water...who knows what was lurking beneath the surface. Yikes! I don't know if I could've done it...
Good for you! Ben is so blessed to have a Big Sis that would put her fears aside and enjoy his dream adventure with him.
Thanks for the pics you did get. I would totally have gone with you! Bugs, mud, zip line, rock climbing and all! That's an adventure of a lifetime!...Remember, from me to you...always choose to dance! :)
