This weekend was a really good weekend. On Friday, one of my very best friends in the whole world was in Seattle from Portland. We met up, had a very spicy dinner at the local Thai food place and then went back to the Taki Tiki for some wild games of Photo Hunt. Yes, it is BACK!! Hooray!
The Taki Tiki is exactly that... a tacky tiki bar located in down-town Edmonds. Photo Hunt is a small little video game that shows you two pictures and you have to find 5 things that are different in each picture. It is timed and with each round, the time ticks by a little faster. The Taki randomly closed down for about a month and when it reopened, it didn't have the Photo Hunt machine anymore. We boycotted the place for the imense dissappointment it caused us, but... then to our complete and utter surprise... the game is back and the Taki has re-positioned itself as the best place to hang out in Edmonds. HOORAY for Courtney, hooray for Thai food, and hooray for Photo Hunt.
Saturday, Steve and I got up and cleaned the house. Top to bottom. We have been sick and I was convinced we were not getting better because of all the germs lingering. We cleaned, scrubbed, washed, and I immediately started feeling better. Sure, it was probably mental, but I am all for tricking myself into feeling normal.
After we cleaned, we headed out to meet Owen for the Christmas festivities in Marysville. They were lighting the water tower - yes, you read that right. It is a small town, and lighting the "water tower" deserves its own party. Anyway, they were lighting the water tower, Santa was going to show up, there were crafts for kids, hot chocolates, hot dogs, a bon fire, glowy swords, popcorn, doritors, jungle gyms, and Owen. Jen and Greg were going to Greg's Christmas party and Steve and I were in charge of showing Owen a good time at the Christmas party. On his way to meet us, Owen told Jen, "This party with Noni is going to be so much more fun than your party." OH THE PRESSURE!!!
With only one slight mishap (when he fell off the jungle gym from a very high ladder and gave me a small heart attack), we had a really great time.
Look at his face with Santa. He didn't want to sit on his lap, but agreed to sit by him long enough for a picture. I love how he is trying to smile, but is looking at me out of the corner of his eye.

Aww, I had so much fun with you guys. Now you need to come visit us in Portland so we can show you a good time! I'll have to investigate which establishments have Photo Hunt. :)
I'm so jealous! That bar was closed when we were there!!! I guess it gives me a good excuse to come back!
